Porsche Tour

During this tour, you will walk the footsteps of Ferdinand Porsche and a number of his competitors and witness firsthand what they created and developed, and what continues to be created and developed today.

On the first day of this tour, we will experience the Porsche Museum and the Porsche AG in Stuttgart, Germany, and also tour the factory and headquarters of Porsche in Zuffenhausen, nearby Stuttgart.

The next day we will visit the Mercedes Benz museum and share with you the connection of Ferdinand Porsche and how he helped Mercedes become the company it is today. We will then drive to Munich where we will see the BMW word headquarters before continuing on to Salzburg, Austria.

The third day will begin in Salzburg, where you will enjoy a tour of the city, combining a walking tour and driving tour (during the summer the driving tour can be in an antique car that was developed by Ferdinand Porsche). We will then drive to Mattsee where we will see the northern lake district area and drive with an Austro Daimler and then to the Ferdinand Porsche Museum.

The next day we will head to Spielberg, driving through the lake district area past Unesco world heritage sites before arriving at our destination. Spielberg is the home of the Formula 1 race track in Austria and you will be afforded the opportunity of driving a Porsche on the track. Choose whether you want to drive yourself or be driven by a professional race track driver. After that, we will continue to towards Gmünd in Corinthia where we will see the museum of Porsche and the former production site of the Porsche model 356. We will then proceed over the Grossglockner mountain (one of the highest and most scenic mountain road of Austria) to Zell am See, where Ferdinand Porsche was buried, and will then return to Salzburg.

Ferdinand Porsche was a renewed automobile innovator. He attended technical school in Vienna and completed courses of the technical university of Vienna. without being inscribed before joining Lohner production company where he developed the first hub motor. He eventually left Lohner and joined the Austro Daimler company where he became head of production. In 1923 he left the company to form hi own firm to design sports cars and racing cars. During World War II, he designed military vehicles, notably the Tiger tank. He opened his design and development company in Stuttgart where he worked for different companies, such as Volkswagen, where he developed the famous VW beetle. He died in 1951 and was buried in Zell am See at the family’s property.
