This Hallstatt tour from Salzburg is for people who want the famous lakeside village without the train changes, the ferry and the parking hunt. Your driver-guide takes the lake road past Fuschl, St. Gilgen and Bad Ischl, gets you into Hallstatt before the day-trip buses, and leaves you four to five hours for the village, the salt mine or the lake.
Good to know

- Extra and paid on the spot: the salt mine, the funicular to the Skywalk and any boat ride. You decide on the day.
- Hallstatt is small and hilly. Expect a couple of hours on foot on lanes and steps; the salt mine adds more walking and a miners' slide.
- By train the trip takes around 2.5 hours each way with a change at Attnang-Puchheim and a ferry. By car it is about 1 hour 15 minutes, but the village is car-free and the lots outside fill up in season.
- Advisor tip: in summer the village fills up by late morning, so we keep the morning stops short, get in first, and take our time on the lake road home.
