Bernard was one of the most accommodating, informative, friendly guides I have had the pleasure of working with. We had a wonderful day with Bernd. He was knowledgeable and accommodating and allowed for our family to relax and enjoy our day trip to Salzburg. In addition to visiting the sites of Salzburg, we visited the lake district and viewed the sites from the Sound of Music and even sampled some local treats and baking. Bernd communicated with us well and advised us to take a train from Vienna to Salzburg.

I cannot say enough about our tour of Salzburg with Bernd. He was fantastic. Before our tour, he answers all my questions quickly. On the day of the tour, he met us at the train station as he said, and then gave us a tour. It was a perfect day. He knows his city so well and his love for it come through. Scheduled a tour with Bernd as an anniversary gift & was the highlight of our vacation. Bernd's an exceptional guide & provided a wealth of information. Outstanding tour with Bernd. Today we saw so much and learned so much that we simply would have missed had we not had such a good attentive guide. Bernd was a true gentleman, taking his time with my elderly parents, making our trip fun, answering questions and making us laugh! The best tour we had, simply cannot go wrong with beautiful Hallstatt and good weather. He helped me with my wheelchair-bound husband make it through Hallstatt's viewing areas (we managed well to get to the Catholic church with stair/steps - up on the hill) and the small but great Christmas market. Stopped by St. Wolfgang Village and its market on way back and we loved it, too. It was a fun-filled day with Bernd who was very knowledgeable, funny and such a joy to be with. We were laughing all the way!

This was our second tour with Bernd and he did not disappoint! Again Bernd totally customized the tour for us after asking about our family's interests (3 boys ages 10, 12, and 14). This was an action packed day visiting a lake, a canyon, TWO alpine slides (the kids were thrilled), lunch atop a mountain, the salt mine, and finally exploring Red Bull Hanger 7. We arranged a private tour from our Viking cruise ship in Passau to the Eagle's Nest and Salzburg. Bernd was an amazing guide. He arrived on time in his new Mercedes van which was very comfortable for the six of us. Throughout our tour he provided us with historic information of the sites we visited and showed us additional points of interest. He was very patient with our group some of whom needed special assistance due to age or limited vision. Highly recommend!

Some people say tours like these aren't worth the money if you can just walk around on your own and take photos but our time with Bernie made it an enriched experience. We learned so much that we never could have just by walking past the same buildings and noticed WAY more. There was so much to take in, but it never felt rushed. I would recommend this service to anyone visiting this area. Such a rich history!

This was our first trip to Salzburg and we wanted to see the highlights. Bernie gave us several options - all sounded fantastic. We chose to do a ride around the city and then out to the Lakes District. It was a great way to see a beautiful city and the countryside. Bernie is an excellent tour guide. We loved his sense of humor! Bernie is very knowledgeable and enthusiastically shared the history and culture of Austria. And, of course, what's a tour of Salzburg without a little Sound of Music. We absolutely loved our trip with Bernie as our guide of Hallstatt and the surrounding area. We had such a great time on our Salt Mine tour. It was very informative and unexpected. We went down two different slides, and saw the oldest staircase in the world, as well as some great visuals throughout the tour. I also want to acknowledge that I really appreciated that Bernie was very patient with me, since I am a little slow climbing stairs and the hills. So we probably took a little longer on our tour than normal because of this. We also saw some beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains. Bernie's knowledge of the area is awesome, and we truly appreciated his attention to detail. He is so fun to be with and always has a smile and laugh to make you feel comfortable. Bernie never made us feel rushed, he made sure we got to see everything we wanted to and probably more than we expected to see. Thank you so much for a fabulous day!

I traveled with my sister, her 17 year-old daughter, and my 13 year-old daughter the first week in June, 2018. Prior to the trip:-- Bernhard, owner of Be Special Tours, was very responsive and flexible in helping me plan. In fact, he had helped us to schedule and to accommodate us as much as possible.--Payment was easy through credit card. There were other options.--Bernhard sent a custom itinerary for our group, which covered every detail of the trip including suggestions for what to pack, information on the exchange rate, etc. Destinations:--All of the castles were different and magnificent. We liked the length of the tours inside the castles. They typically ran between 30 and 40 minutes, which was perfect with the kids.--The tours were very balanced time-wise. We got to walk the grounds and explore the towns where the castles were located.--The scenery is just stunning! Tour guide:--Bernie was our assigned tour guide. He was the best tour guide I have ever had and I travel a lot. He is knowledgeable, professional, and fun to be around. He always gave us enough time to appreciate the sites we visited and answered about a million of our questions. We learned so much about the German and Austrian culture. Bernie was very attentive to our needs throughout the entire trip and never stopped smiling. he went above and beyond. Overall, my experience with Be Special tours exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this company and will certainly use them in the future.
